Description
Easy homemade granola bars are the perfect breakfast to grab and go and make for a healthy after school snack.
Method
Step 1 of 5
Pre-heat the oven to 175°C/155°C fan-forced. Spread oat and almonds out on a lined baking sheet and toast for 10 minutes, or until lightly golden.
Step 2 of 5
Add the dates to a food processor and pulse to form a dough consistency, about 1 minute. Place in a large bowl with the toasted oats and almonds.
Step 3 of 5
Place the maple syrup, peanut butter and vanilla in a small saucepan over a low heat and warm through for 2 minutes, stirring to form a smooth mix. Pour into the bowl with the dates, oats and almonds and mix well to form a dough.
Step 4 of 5
Line a square baking tin with parchment paper, add the dough and press into the tin to form an even layer. Cover with parchment and freeze for 20 minutes.
Step 5 of 5
Remove from the freezer and slice into 10 bars.
