Description
Mysore pak is a melt in the mouth Indian sweet treat.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Heat the oil and ghee in a large saucepan until the ghee has melted. Remove 1/3 of the mixture and set aside. Whisk in the chickpea flour until smooth.
Step 2 of 4
Place the sugar in a large, wide saucepan and add 125ml of water, bring to the boil and cook for 2-3 minutes until reduced and stringy when pulled with a spoon.
Step 3 of 4
Add the sugar mix to the chickpea flour mix and combine. Stir in the remaining ghee and oil and mix well. Cook on medium low heat for 5 minutes until bubbling and thick, remove from the heat and stir for 1 minute.
Step 4 of 4
Pour the mix into a parchment lined tin and smooth out with a spatula. Leave to cool for 15 minutes, slice and serve.
