Instruction tip

Chilli is optional, I use African birds eye chillies from my garden. You can add other vegetables if you wish, like capsicum and onions.

Method

Step 1 of 5

In a bowl combine the beef, Shaoxing wine, corn flour, bicarbonate soda, egg and pepper. Mix well and set aside.

Step 2 of 5

In another bowl combine soy sauce, water and sugar. Mix well and set aside.

Step 3 of 5

Heat oil and deep fry meat mixture in batches on a high heat and fry until golden brown then set aside.

Step 4 of 5

In another pan add some oil on medium to high heat and stir fry garlic and chilli for one minute. Add the beef mixture and stir fry for another minute. Then add the sauce and stir fry for about two minutes until all the liquid has been absorbed. Finally, add spring onions and stir fry for another minute.

Step 5 of 5

Turn off heat and season with sesame seeds, stir one last time and serve.
