- 1 large red onion
- 2tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup cheddar
- 1/4 cup aioli
- 1/3 cup tomato chutney
- 600grams golden ale chips
- 4 Aussie beef sausages

Cook chips according to packet instructions.

Meanwhile, heat half the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Cook onion, stirring, for 8 minutes or until light golden. Remove onion from pan and cover to keep warm.

Meanwhile, spread bread bases with aioli.
Step 4 of 4
Heat remaining oil in same pan over medium-high heat. Cook sausages, turning, for 10 minutes or until browned and just cooked through. Remove sausages from pan, cut in half crossways, then return to pan. Scatter over cheese, then cook, covered, for 2 minutes or until cheese has melted. Transfer cheesy sausages to roll bases, then top with onion, chutney and sandwich with roll tops. Serve with chips.
