  • 20grams butter
  • 2 onions, halved, thinly sliced
  • barbecue sauce (to serve)
  • 1tablespoons white balsamic vinegar
  • baby rocket leaves (to serve)
  • 2teaspoons olive oil
  • 1tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 long bread rolls
  • 4 pork sausages

Method

Step 1 of 4

Heat oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Cook sausages, turning occasionally, for 8 minutes or until cooked through. Transfer to a plate. Cover to keep warm.

Step 2 of 4

Add butter and onions to pan. Cook, stirring, for 10 minutes or until onion has softened and lightly browned. Add sugar and balsamic. Cook, stirring for 10 minutes or until caramelised. Transfer to a bowl. Cover to keep warm.

Step 3 of 4

lightly toast bread rolls, split rolls along one side.

Step 4 of 4

Fill rolls with rocket leaves, sausage and onion mixture. Add BBQ sauce and serve.
