  • 200grams gingerbread, crumbled
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 star anise
  • 100grams caster sugar
  • 5 cloves
  • 1teaspoons nutmeg, powder
  • 1tablespoons allspice, powder
  • 1tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 80grams whipped cream

Description

This soft sweet dessert is absolutely packed with festive flavours.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Bring a pot of water half full to the boil and add all ingredients to the pot add more water if the pears are not covered fully.

Step 2 of 4

Stir until the sugar has melted and then lower the heat, cover the pot and allow to simmer for 30 minutes. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced.

Step 3 of 4

When the pears ready, remove then from pot and place them into a baking tray. Cover the pears with the broken ginbgerbread cookies and bake in the oven for 5 minutes.

Step 4 of 4

Remove from the oven and add whipped cream on top.
