- 1tablespoons sesame oil
- 1tablespoons ginger, chopped
- 1teaspoons nigella seeds
- 2 large mango, peeled, de-seeded and chopped
- 100grams caster sugar
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1 pinch cumin
- 1 pinch turmeric
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1 pinch cayenne
- 1 pinch salt
Description
A sweetly spiced condiment with eastern flavours.
Method
Step 1 of 6
Heat up a saucepan to a medium heat and add the sesame oil to the pan.
Step 2 of 6
Fry the ginger and nigella seeds for 2 minutes.
Step 3 of 6
Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to the boil for 2 minutes.
Step 4 of 6
Reduce the heat and allow to simmer for 1 hour stirring occasionally.
Step 5 of 6
Prepare a suitable sealable container by placing it in boiling water to sterilise it and allow to cool.
Step 6 of 6
Remove the chutney from the heat and allow to cool before placing into the storage container in the fridge overnight before using.
