  • 1teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 250grams brown sugar
  • 600grams ground almonds
  • 50grams chopped almonds
  • 100grams dried cranberries
  • 2teaspoons mixed spice
  • 1/4 cup golden syrup

Description

Maltese almond biscuits with zest orange and sweet cranberries.

Method

Step 1 of 6

Pre-heat your oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced.

Step 2 of 6

In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs with the orange juice, zest and vanilla essence.

Step 3 of 6

Add the sugar to the mixing bowl and combine fully.

Step 4 of 6

Incrementally add the ground almonds while mixing and then add the chopped almonds, cranberries and mixed spice.

Step 5 of 6

Divide the dough into 6 and shape into a log form and place evenly spaced on a baking tray.

Step 6 of 6

Bake in the oven for 13 minutes, then remove and allow to cool slightly before coating with maple syrup. All to cool before serving.
