  • 300grams brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 40grams ginger, chopped

A strong flavoured and piquant chutney with festive aromas.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Heat up a saucepan to a medium heat.

Step 2 of 5

Add all the ingredients to the pot and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 3 of 5

Reduce the heat and allow to simmer for 1 hour stirring occasionally.

Step 4 of 5

Prepare a suitable sealable container by placing it in boiling water to sterilise it and allow to cool.

Step 5 of 5

Remove the chutney from the heat and allow to cool before placing into the storage container in the fridge overnight before using.
