4 Ingredients
- 500grams raw cashews
- 2tablespoons coconut oil, melted, warm
- 4tablespoons water
- 1teaspoons sea salt
Description
Make your very own cashew butter using only a few all natural ingredients. So tasty when added to toasted bread, spread onto apples or even made into nutty salad dressing.
Instruction tip
Be sure to give your cashew butter a good stir before using. Add a touch of brown sugar if a sweeter nut butter is preferred.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced, spread the cashews out onto a baking tray to toast for 10-15 minutes until the nuts start turning a golden brown colour.
Step 2 of 3
Allow the cashews to cool slightly before added them to a food processor along with the coconut oil, warm water and sea salt. Blend on high until smooth scraping down the edges to combine from time to time. Blend a little less for a chunky cashew butter.
Step 3 of 3
Add the cashew butter to jars sealing them shut. The cashew butter will last in a cool dark place in the pantry for up to 2 months or in the fridge for 6 months.
