  • 2 orange, sliced in 0.5 cm thick

This tasty treat can also be used as a topping or garnish for your favorite cake.

Method

Step 1 of 2

In a large pot, heat the sugar, water, cinnamon and star anise until the sugar dissolves. Add the orange slices and simmer on low heat for 40 minutes, turn them over occasionally. Discard the cinammon bark and star anise. Let the slices cool on a wire rack for about 15 minutes inside the refrigerator.

Melt the chocolate in a heat proof bowl over a pot of simmering water. Dip half of each orange slice and let it set on an aluminum foil lined tray or chopping board. Sprinkle with salt if desired.
