  • 1tablespoons chia seeds
  • 125grams tahini, light, runny

Description

These quinoa snack bars are a nutritious treat packed with seeds and delicious vanilla.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Pre-heat the oven to 160°C/140°C fan-forced and line a square baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2 of 5

Add the dates to a food processor and pulse to form a thick dough 1-2 minutes. Place in a large bowl.

Step 3 of 5

Add the quinoa, pecans, seeds, tahini and vanilla to the dates and mix very well with a metal spoon to form a stiff dough.

Step 4 of 5

Add the dough to the baking tray and press into the tin to form an even layer, as tightly packed as possible. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden.

Step 5 of 5

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 1 hour, then place in the fridge for 1 hour to firm up further. Remove from the fridge and slice into 12 rectangular bars.
