Description

Add this easy, low-cost sausage roll recipe to your rotation to impress everyone. Serve with kaleslaw for a delightful weeknight meal.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Cut 2 pastry sheets into two 12x17cm rectangles and one 8x24cm rectangle to make 6 rectangles. Cut the final pastry sheet into three 8x17cm rectangles and one 8x24cm rectangle to make another 4 rectangles. Working with one sausage and one pastry rectangle at a time, place sausage along the long edge of the rectangle and roll up to enclose sausage, stretching pastry slightly to cover well on the smaller rectangles. Trim any excess pastry ends from the longer rectangle pieces. Cut each sausage roll in half crossways.

Step 2 of 4

Place sausage rolls, seam-side down, between two large baking trays. Brush with egg. Sprinkle with fennel seeds. Bake, swapping trays halfway through, for 25 minutes or until golden.

Step 3 of 4

Place kaleslaw in a bowl. Add seed mix and drizzle with dressing.

Step 4 of 4

Serve sausage rolls with sauce and salad.
