- 150grams margarine
- 75grams soft light brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2tablespoons water
- 75grams plain wholemeal flour
- 1/2teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
- 100grams rolled oats
- 50grams ready-to-eat dried apricots, chopped
- 50grams dried figs, chopped
- 50grams mixed seeds, such as pumpkin, sunflower and sesame

Method

Line 2 baking sheets with nonstick baking paper.

Beat together the margarine and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy, then beat in the egg and measurement water.

Sift the flour and bicarbonate of soda into the bowl, adding any bran in the sieve. Add the oats, apricots, figs and seeds, then fold all the ingredients into the margarine and sugar mixture.
Step 4 of 5
Place 24 walnut-sized pieces of the mixture on the baking sheets and flatten them slightly with the back of a fork.
Step 5 of 5
Bake the bites in a preheated oven, 180°C for 10-15 minutes until golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
