Description

As good as the restaurant version (or maybe even better), this air-fryer cheat's churros recipe is a cinch to make from just five ingredients.

Method

Step 1 of 3

Combine cinnamon and sugar in a medium shallow bowl.

Step 2 of 3

Sprinkle 2 tsp cinnamon sugar all over 1 pastry sheet. Fold pastry sheet in half, pressing to secure. Cut pastry sheet in half crossways to form 2 squares. Sprinkle tsp cinnamon sugar over 1 square, then sandwich with remaining pastry square, gently pressing to secure. Cut pastry into 5 strips. Twist each strip, pressing gently at ends to secure. Place on a baking paper-lined baking tray. Repeat with remaining pastry and cinnamon sugar. Freeze strips for 10 minutes or until firm.

Step 3 of 3

Preheat air fryer to 200°C for 2 minutes. Working in 2 batches, brush pastry with egg, then cook in air fryer for 8 minutes or until golden and puffed. Immediately toss churros in remaining cinnamon sugar to lightly coat. Serve with chocolate.
