- 600grams ground almonds
- 250grams brown sugar
- 2teaspoons mixed spice
- 1 medium orange, juice and zest
- 1teaspoons vanilla essence

Maltese crunchy biscuits with a strong taste of almonds
Method
Step 1 of 6
Pre-heat your oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced.
Step 2 of 6
In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs with the orange juice, zest and vanilla essence.
Step 3 of 6
Add the sugar to the mixing bowl and combine fully.
Step 4 of 6
Incrementally add the ground almonds while mixing and then add the chopped almonds and mixed spice.
Step 5 of 6
Divide the dough into 6 and shape into a log form and place evenly spaced on a baking tray.
Step 6 of 6
Bake in the oven for 13 minutes, then remove and allow to cool slightly before coating with maple syrup. All to cool before serving.
