Description
This mouthwatering ham, cheese and tomato stromboli will steal the limelight on Italian night. Top with sour cream and avocado for a flavour combination like no other!
Method
Step 1 of 4
Combine yeast and 2 cups flour in a large bowl. Stir in 1 cup warm water and 2 tbs oil. Stir to combine, then use hands to bring dough together. Place in a clean, lightly greased heatproof bowl and cover. Place bowl in kitchen sink. Fill sink with hot water to reach halfway up the side of the bowl. Stand for 40 minutes or until dough has doubled in size.
Step 2 of 4
Preheat oven to 220°C/200°C fan-forced. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Lightly dust a clean work surface with remaining flour. Turn dough out onto surface, and knead until smooth and elastic. Roll dough out between sheets of baking paper to form a 30x40cm rectangle.
Step 3 of 4
Spread dough with pesto. Top with half of the ham, then half of the mozzarella. Then top with remaining ham and mozzarella.
Step 4 of 4
Fold in long sides, then roll dough up tightly to form a log. Transfer dough to prepared tray. Brush with remaining oil and sprinkle with seeds. Bake for 35 minutes or until golden-brown. Remove from oven. Stand for 5 minutes, then slice and serve with spinach and lemon.
