Description

This grilled beef rump steak with a spicy jalapeño dressing will bring big flavours to the table, making it a guaranteed hit this festive season.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Reserve a few coriander leaves to serve. Finely chop stems and remaining leaves. Combine shallot, jalapeño, garlic and chopped coriander in a small bowl. Add lime juice and 1 tbs oil and season.

Step 2 of 4

Place steak in a glass or ceramic dish. Add half of the jalapeño mixture and turn to coat. Chill overnight, if time permits.

Step 3 of 4

Heat a barbecue grill or chargrill pan over medium-high heat. Cook steak for 5 minutes each side for medium or until cooked to your liking. Transfer to a plate and cover loosely with foil. Stand for 10 minutes to rest.

Step 4 of 4

Add remaining oil to the remaining jalapeño mixture. Slice steak and spoon jalapeño mixture over steak. Scatter with reserved coriander. Serve with lime halves.
