  • 1L chicken stock
  • 4 piece chicken maryland (whole leg: thigh & drumstick)
  • 500grams egg noodles
  • 3 leaves lettuce
  • 2 stalk shallots
  • 2teaspoons salt
  • 2teaspoons five spice powder
  • oil (for deep-frying)

Method

Step 1 of 7

Place chicken, salt and five spice powder in a saucepan, cover with water and bring to boil. Then simmer until chicken is cooked but firm.

Step 2 of 7

Remove the chicken from stock, drain and dry.

Step 3 of 7

Heat oil in wok, deep-fry chicken until crisp and golden.

Step 4 of 7

Boil chicken stock in a saucepan.

Step 5 of 7

Cook noodles as per package instructions. Cut shallots and lettuce.

Step 6 of 7

Place noodles into each bowl, lettuce, shallots and stock to cover the noodles.

Step 7 of 7

To serve, place chicken on top.
