- 1 cup SR flour
- 1 cup dessicated coconut
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup dried fruit (sultanas/raisins/dates, apricot/cranberry, mixed fruit)
- 1/4 cup nuts (optional reduce fruit to 3/4c if using)
- 115grams butter
- 1tablespoons golden syrup
- 1 egg

Description
A simple and quick slice for morning or afternoon tea.
Method
Step 1 of 6
Mix all the dry ingredients.
Step 2 of 6
Melt the butter and mix in the golden syrup and add to the dry ingredients. Stir through well.
Step 3 of 6
Add beaten egg and mix well.
Step 4 of 6
Press into a greased and lined 28x18 baking tin. Bake 20mins in a moderate oven.
Step 5 of 6
Allow to cool in the pan then turn out and cool completely. Cut into service sized pieces. Makes 16 or more depending on the size you cut.

Optional: When cool add icing and sprinkle with coconut or just dust with icing sugar.
