  • 1/4teaspoons baking soda
  • 6tablespoons sunflower oil (for frying)

  • 2tablespoons chives, chopped

Description

Traditional Ukrainian deruny are enjoyed for breakfast or lunch, usually with a good dollop of sour cream on top.

Method

Step 1 of 2

Add the flour, egg, salt and baking soda and mix well. Heat some oil on medium heat in a large non-stick pan and spoon heaped tablespoons into the pan. 

Step 2 of 2

Cook for 3 minutes on each side until crisp and repeat with the remaining batter and oil. Serve with sour cream and chopped chives on top.
