- 1 egg, beaten
- 1teaspoons sea salt
- 1 medium onion, finely sliced
- 100grams spinach
- 50grams black olives, pitted and halved
- 100grams cheddar, grated

Description
These savoury and cheesy Turkish pides would be delicious for a picnic and can be eaten warm or cold.
Method
Step 1 of 5
Tip the flour, sugar, yeast and salt into a large bowl and stir to combine. Add 80ml of warm water and 2 tablespoons of oil and mix to combine. Tip on to a lightly floured work surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and springy.

Place in an oiled bowl and cover with a damp towel. Set aside to rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Add the remaining oil to a large pan on medium heat and cook the onions for 5 minutes. Add the spinach and black olives and cook for 2 minutes.

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C. Tip the dough on to a floured work surface and cut into 4 pieces. Roll each piece into an oval shape.
Step 5 of 5
Place the dough ovals on a lined baking tray and spoon the onion mix onto each, sprinkling a layer of cheese on top. Leave a border around the edges and roll up to form a crust. Brush the edges with beaten egg and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and crisp.
