- 12 large figs, stems removed
- 4 figs
- 3tablespoons honey, warmed
- 1/4 spring rosemary, chopped
- 6 slices bacon rashers, cut in half
- 50milliliter heavy cream
- 50grams smoked gouda, shredded
Description
Fresh figs tossed with honey and wrapped in bacon is even more delicious with a rich and creamy smoked gouda sauce.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Toss the fig with the honey and chopped rosemary, wrap each half of bacon slices around the figs securing the bacon in place with a toothpick or small skewer. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper arranging the figs wrapped in bacon onto the baking sheet. Roast in the oven for 20 minutes rotating halfway through cooking.

Place the cream into a small saucepan bringing the cream to a simmer, add the shredded smoked gouda to the cream. Use a whisk to melt and incorporate the cheese until smooth. Keep warm until the figs are ready.
Step 3 of 3
Pour the cheese sauce onto a platter arranging the bacon wrapped figs overtop of the sauce. Serve warm.
