- 4tablespoons duck fat
- 1 star anise
- 3/4 cup vegetable stock
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled and mashed
- 1tablespoons ginger, diced
- 4tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 4 medium duck legs
Description
These sticky and savoury duck legs are packed with aromatic herbs and spices.
Method
Step 1 of 7
Pre-heat the oven to 160°C/140°C fan-forced.
Step 2 of 7
Heat up a saucepan to a medium heat and add all ingredients apart from the duck legs.
Step 3 of 7
Bring the sauce to a boil and allow to simmer while stirring for 10 minutes.
Step 4 of 7
Pierce the skin of the duck legs with a fork a few times and place in a baking tray.
Step 5 of 7
Empty the sauce from the pan into the baking tray and ensure the duck legs are covered evenly with the sauce.
Step 6 of 7
Place the tray in the oven and bake for 30 minutes, basting the legs twice through the cooking period.
Step 7 of 7
Remove from the oven and serve with a choice of condiments.
