- 200grams cherries, pitted and halved
- 3/4 cup water
- 50grams dark sugar
- 1teaspoons allspice
- 1 medium star anise
- 1teaspoons cloves, powder
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 3/4 cup brandy
Description
A intense and spicy cherry mix to use for desserts or meats.
Method
Step 1 of 3
In a pot, bring the water and sugar the boil and then simmer for minutes until the sugar has melted. Add all the spices to the mix and allow to simmer for a further 3 minutes until the water starts to reduce.
Step 2 of 3
Remove from the heat and add the cherries and brandy to the mixture and combine fully. Boil a suitable and sealable glass container to sterilise and then allow to cool.
Step 3 of 3
Once the jar is cool, empty contents of the cooled pot ingredients and store in the fridge.
