  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 cm piece ginger, finely grated
  • 1/4 cup black bean sauce
  • 1 1/2tablespoons Chinese cooking wine
  • 500grams beef stir-fry strips
  • 2 1/2tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 bunch broccolini, sliced diagonally
  • 1 carrot, sliced into matchsticks
  • 4 spring onions, thinly sliced diagonally
  • 2 cup jasmine rice (to serve)

Description

This beef and broccolini black bean stir fry is an authentic Chinese dish with a sharp, pungent and spicy sauce, juicy meat and crunchy veggies served with fluffy white rice.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Place garlic, ginger, black bean sauce and cooking wine in a large bowl, mixing well to combine. Add beef strips, tossing to combine.

Step 2 of 4

Heat 11/2 tbs oil in a wok or deep-frying pan over high heat. Remove beef strips from marinade and stir-fry, in batches, for 3 minutes or until browned. Transfer to a plate.

Step 3 of 4

Add remaining oil to pan, then add broccolini and stir-fry for 1 minute. Stir in 2 tbs water, carrot and remaining marinade and cook for a further 1 minute.

Step 4 of 4

Return beef to pan with onion and cook for 1 minute or until heated through. Serve stir-fry with rice.
