  • 75grams blackberries
  • 100milliliter balsamic vinegar
  • 1 spring rosemary
  • 4 portobello mushrooms, stems and gills removed
  • 5milliliter non-stick cooking spray
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 each burger buns, cut in half
  • 4 leaves green leaf lettuce, washed and dried
  • 4 slices beef steak tomatoes

Description

A unique sweet, sour and savory grilled mushroom burger that will satisfy vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.

Method

Step 1 of 3

Add the blackberries to a pot muddling the berries, pour in the balsamic vinegar and rosemary, simmer on the stovetop until thickened into a glaze.

Step 2 of 3

Heat the grill to medium high for 10 minutes. Lightly brush the mushrooms with glaze before spraying the grill with non-stick cooking spray placing the mushrooms onto the grill. Cook on both sides for 3-4 minutes while brushing the mushrooms with blackberry balsamic glaze.

Step 3 of 3

Remove the mushrooms from the grill and letting them rest on a plate or tray. Toast the buns on the grill adding the cheese to melt, assemble the burgers with the leaf lettuce, tomatoes and mushrooms paired with your favourite barbecue sides.
