Description
Puff pastry is the secret to these crunchy cronuts, which feature a tangy lemon glaze for maximum decadence. Plus, they take less than 30 minutes to make!
Method
Step 1 of 4
Place pastry sheets on a clean work surface. Brush sheets with egg. Place sheets on top of each other to make 6 layers. Using a 7.5cm-wide round cookie cutter, cut out 9 circles. Using a 3cm-wide round cookie cutter, cut centre out of each circle to form a doughnut shape.
Step 2 of 4
Combine sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Place butter in a separate shallow bowl.
Step 3 of 4
Preheat air fryer to 180°C for 5 minutes. Lightly spray the air-fryer basket with oil. To make cronuts, cook circles in batches for 12 minutes or until puffed and golden. Immediately brush cronuts all over with butter, then use tongs to toss cronuts in sugar mixture to coat. Transfer to a plate.
Step 4 of 4
To make the lemon glaze, whisk icing sugar and lemon juice in a medium bowl until thick. Drizzle cronuts with icing mixture and sprinkle with any remaining cinnamon sugar.
