Description
Delicious for breakfast or afternoon tea, these cinnamony bites are ready in half an hour. Turn your Easter treats up a notch and enjoy a fruity flavour sensation in no time.
Instruction tip
Swap tip:Serve bites with store-bought caramel fudge sauce instead of making chocolate sauce to save time.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Line a baking tray with baking paper. Using a sharp knife, cut buns in half, then cut each half in half again to create 4 pieces. Whisk eggs, milk and cinnamon in a large shallow bowl. Working quickly, dip bread in milk mixture then place on prepared tray.
Step 2 of 4
Spray bread with oil. Cook bread, in batches, in a 5L air fryer at 200°C for 10 minutes, turning halfway through cooking, or until golden-brown.
Step 3 of 4
Meanwhile, place chocolate, cream and essence in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high in 30-second bursts until melted and smooth. Combine sugar and cinnamon on a large flat plate.
Step 4 of 4
Toss hot French-toast bites in cinnamon sugar to lightly coat. Serve with chocolate sauce.
