- 1/2 lemon, zested, juiced

Description
Treat the family with this easy five-ingredient peri peri chicken wings recipe. Slow cooked for extra tenderness, they’re best served with a lemon mayo.
Instruction tip
Tip:Follow step 1. Preheat oven to 220˚C/200˚C fan-forced. Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Place chicken on tray and spray with oil. Bake for 45 minutes, turning halfway, or until golden and cooked through. Continue with steps 3 and 4.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Place chicken and 2 tbs sauce in a large glass or ceramic bowl. Toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate overnight, if time permits.
Step 2 of 4
Place chicken in a 5.5L slow cooker. Cover with lid and cook on low for 4 hours, turning chicken halfway through, or until chicken is tender and cooked through.
Step 3 of 4
Place remaining sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until slightly thickened.
Step 4 of 4
Combine mayonnaise, zest and lemon juice in a small bowl. Season. Place chicken in a serving dish. Drizzle over sauce and toss gently to combine. Sprinkle with green onion. Serve with lemon mayonnaise.
