  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 mushrooms
  • 2 cup basmati rice, cooked
  • 5 potatoes
  • 150grams bacon pieces
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 2 spring onions, sliced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 2 chicken breasts, diced
  • 1teaspoons sesame oil

Comfort food without the price tag!

Method

Step 1 of 5

Curry: Cut chicken breasts into strips/chinks and add to slow cooker. Add sliced onion and pataks mango curry sauce. Put on lid and cook on high for 1.5hrs.

Step 2 of 5

Curry: After 1.5 hrs add mushrooms and peas to slow cooker put lid back on and cook for a further 30 mins. (You can cook on hob if you prefer which takes about 30 mins).

Step 3 of 5

Fried Rice: Add sesame oil to wok. Once heated add egg and fry for a couple of mins until set. Take out of pan and cut into strips.

Step 4 of 5

Fried Rice: Fry bacon pieces until browned. Add carrots and spring onions and fry until soft. Then add (cooked & cooled) rice and stir well. Add soy sauce. Turn off heat and stir through egg.

Step 5 of 5

Chips: The chips were made by slicing potatoes into chunky chips and frying in a deep fat fryer.
