  • 2teaspoons paprika
  • 1 1/2 cups soda water, chilled
  • 1L vegetable oil (to fry)
  • 2 brown onions, cut into thick rounds

Description

Master making onion rings from scratch with this easy recipe. They're oh-so crispy and are a go-to side for your favourite burger recipe.

Combine flour and paprika in a bowl. Season. Whisk in soda water until just combined. Heat vegetable oil (10cm deep) in a saucepan over high heat. Working in batches, dip onion in batter, then fry for 2 minutes or until crisp. Drain on paper towels.
