Description
Baked apples, cinnamon and toasty pecans are a match made in heaven for a simple but satisfying dessert.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Pre-heat the oven to 170°C. Mix the butter, maple syrup, sugar and cinnamon in a small saucepan and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes until melted.
Step 2 of 3
Stir in the sultanas, pecans and vanilla. Cut the base of each apple so it stands upright and lightly score the skin with a knife.
Step 3 of 3
Place the apples in an ovenproof baking dish, fill the hollows with the fruit and nut mix, pour the apple juice into the dish and cover with foil. Bake for 1 hour and serve warm, with cooking juices spooned on top.
