  • 800grams apples, sweet, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 200grams blackberries, frozen
  • 1 orange, 1 tbs of zest
  • 4tablespoons maple syrup, divided
  • 1tablespoons cornflour
  • 2teaspoons cinnamon, divided
  • 75grams oats
  • 75grams walnuts, chopped
  • 1tablespoons coconut oil, melted

Description

This fruit packed crumble has a light and deliciously crisp oat and nut topping.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Pre-heat the oven to 160°C/140°C fan-forced and lightly grease a baking dish with a dash of coconut oil.

Step 2 of 4

Place the apples, blackberries, orange zest, half of the maple syrup, cornflour and half of the cinnamon in a bowl and mix well. Pour the mixture into the baking dish.

Step 3 of 4

Mix the oats, walnuts and remaining cinnamon in a small bowl. Pour over the coconut oil and remaining maple syrup and mix well.

Step 4 of 4

Top the fruit mixture with the crumble topping and spread out in an even layer. Bake for 50-60 minutes, until golden and bubbling. Set aside to cool for 20 minutes before serving.
