For the sauce
- 200grams dark chocolate, over 60% cocoa solids
- 1 cup cream
- 800grams pears, store bought tins in syrup
- 3 medium eggs, free range
- 210grams flour
- 1teaspoons baking powder
- 1teaspoons bicarbonate soda
- 20grams dark chocolate cocoa powder
- 150grams sugar
- 1teaspoons vanilla essence

Description
A deliciously moist pudding with the surprising marriage of pear and chocolate.
Method
Step 1 of 5
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C. Drain the pears and slice lengthways.
Step 2 of 5
Prepare the sauce by melting the chocolate with the cream on a low heat for 5 minutes while stirring until the chocolate has meted and leave to one side.
Step 3 of 5
Crack and beat the eggs in a mixing bowl and then combine with the other wet ingredients. Sift the dry ingredients into the mixing bowl incrementally and mix well for 5 minutes.
Step 4 of 5
In your chosen cake tin, line the sliced pears at the bottom of the tin decoratively. Pour the cake mixture on top and bake in the oven for 30 minutes then remove form oven and allow to stand for 10 minutes.
Step 5 of 5
Serve the cake with the creamy chocolate sauce.
