- 250grams salted butter, softened to room temperature
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2tablespoons maple syrup
- 2teaspoons vanilla essence
- 1 cup plain flour
- 2 cups wholemeal self raising flour
- 1/2 cup pecans, roughly chopped
- 1/2 cup dried figs, chopped
- 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
- 1teaspoons baking powder
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten

Description
A delicious take on an old-time favourite, that keeps really well in an airtight container.
Method
Step 1 of 5
Cream butter and sugar maple syrup and vanilla and gradually add beaten egg. Beat until thick and creamy and light brown in colour.
Step 2 of 5
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl, then fold through nuts, figs and chocolate.
Step 3 of 5
Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mix and mix until well combined.
Step 4 of 5
Using a small ice-cream scoop, put about a 1/4 of a cup of the cookie mix for each one and leave about 5 cm apart on a baking tray lined with baking paper
Step 5 of 5
If you like a soft, chewy type of cookie, then bake for about 13 minutes in the preheated oven; if you like a crunchy one, then about 16 -17mins, don't overcook them and burn. When cooked, transfer to a cookie wire cooler and let cool before storing in an airtight jar.
