Description
Delight tastebuds with this celebratory cake. Vegemite's subtle savoury flavour combined with the vanilla sponge will make it hard to stop at one piece.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Place cream, icing sugar and Vegemite in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, whisking for 3 minutes or until mixture is smooth and beginning to simmer. Remove from heat. Add chocolate and whisk until melted and smooth. Transfer to a heatproof bowl or clean, small Vegemite jar. Chill for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, or until thickened and spreadable.

Meanwhile, trim the rounded sides of each sponge cake to form two 10cm squares. Place frosting in a bowl. Whisk until frosting has thickened. Spread the top of each cake with frosting, leaving a 5mm border around the edge. Chill for 20 minutes or until frosting is firm.
Step 3 of 3
Carefully spread cakes with Vegemite ganache. Cut each cake into quarters. Serve.
