  • 1/4 cup Lee Kum Kee Sauce Char Siu
  • 1tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1tablespoons Hong Gong Shao Hsing Wine
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 cm piece ginger (finely grated)
  • 500grams pork medallions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 1 bunch broccolini, halved lengthways
  • 1tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2tablespoons sesame seeds (toasted)
  • 2tablespoons coriander
  • 1 long red chilli (thinly sliced)

Description

This Char Siu pork recipe is a traditional Chinese stir fry dish which fuses tender meat in a sweet and sticky spicy sauce served with crunchy broccolini and fluffy white rice.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Combine sauces, shao hsing, garlic and ginger in a bowl. Place pork in a separate bowl, then add 1 tbs sauce mixture and stir to coat.

Step 2 of 5

Cook rice following absorption method on packet. Add broccolini. Stand, covered, for 5 minutes or until bright green and tender.

Meanwhile, heat a wok over high heat. Add 1 tsp oil and swirl to coat. Add one-third of the pork mixture to wok. Stir-fry for 2 minutes or until just cooked through. Transfer to a bowl and cover. Repeat, in 2 batches, with oil and remaining pork.

Step 4 of 5

Wipe wok clean, if necessary. Return wok to high heat, add remaining oil and swirl to coat. Add pork and remaining sauce mixture, then stir-fry for 2 minutes or until pork is sticky.

Step 5 of 5

Remove broccolini from rice and cover to keep warm. Stir 1 tbs sesame seeds into rice. Divide among bowls, top with pork, broccolini, coriander, chilli and remaining sesame seeds.
