- 560grams Woolworths COOK Chinese BBQ style pork with char siu sauce
- 1 navel orange zest
- 2tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1teaspoons caster sugar
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced into rounds
- 8 frozen bao buns
- 1 small Lebanese cucumber, peeled into ribbons
- 1 spring onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted
- 1tablespoons fried shallots
- 25grams pea shoots, trimmed
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
Description
A harmonious marriage of flavours, these easy-to-make pork buns are filled with juicy pork, cucumber, pea shoots and a vibrant orange and pickled onion salsa.
Method
Step 1 of 5
Preheat oven to 210°C/190°C fan-forced. Line a roasting pan with baking paper. Empty pork mixture from kit in prepared pan. Add orange zest. Toss to combine. Cover with foil. Bake for 35 minutes or until heated through. Remove foil, then cook for a further 10 minutes. Using 2 forks, shred pork. Cover to keep warm.

Meanwhile, place vinegar and sugar in a small bowl and stir until sugar has dissolved. Add onion and stir until combined. Set aside for 10 minutes, stirring often, to pickle.

Heat buns according to packet instructions.

Drain pickled onion. Peel orange and slice into rounds. Cut each slice into small triangular segments. Add orange to onion. Combine cucumber and spring onion in a bowl. Combine sesame seeds and shallots in a bowl.

Fill each bun with a little each of the cucumber mixture, shoots, orange mixture and pork. Top with mayonnaise. Sprinkle with sesame mixture. Serve.
