- 400grams tuna steaks
- 1tablespoons sesame oil, divided
- 3teaspoons sesame seeds
- 4 nests rice noodles
- 1 cucumber, sliced into ribbons
- 3teaspoons rice vinegar (reduced salt)
- 1 red chilli, sliced
- 1 bunch coriander, fresh chopped
- 4tablespoons ponzu sauce
Description
This Asian-inspired seared tuna salad is so simple and quick to make and zingy ponzu gives it great flavour.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Brush the tuna steaks with half of the sesame oil and sprinkle over the sesame seeds. Set aside.
Step 2 of 4
Cook the rice noodles according to pack instructions, drain and rinse under cold water.
Step 3 of 4
Toss the noodles in a bowl with the cucumber ribbons, rice vinegar, a drizzle of sesame oil, chilli and coriander.
Step 4 of 4
Heat a griddle pan on the highest setting and sear each tuna steak for 20-30 seconds on each side. Rest for 5 minutes then serve with the noodle salad and ponzu sauce drizzled on top.
