Description

Using only sugar, this basic toffee recipe is ideal for drizzling on cakes and biscuits or glueing gingerbread houses together.

Method

Step 1 of 2

Add the sugar to a medium-sized pan.

Step 2 of 2

Cook over medium heat for around 15 minutes or until sugar dissolves and turns dark caramel, swirling frequently to ensure even heat distribution.

Swirl the pan, rather than stir to avoid crystallisation
