- 1 punnet strawberries
- 200grams butter cake
- 1tablespoons caster sugar
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream (to serve)

Method
Step 1 of 3
Wash, hull and dice strawberries. Place into bowl and sprinkle over caster sugar. Set aside for 10 minutes.
Step 2 of 3
Meanwhile, cut 4x1cm thick slices from the butter cake and cut into heart shapes. Place under a hot grill and cook until lightly toasted and golden. Turn and cook second side.
Step 3 of 3
Cake needs to cool before ice cream can be used. Place a slice of cake onto each serving plate and top with some of the strawberries and a scoop of ice-cream. Spoon extra strawberries over the top and lean the remaining cake slices against the side. For a romantic touch, garnish with rose petals. Note: Any desired ice cream can be used, and that heart shaped butter cake can be achieved by using a cookie cutter.
