  • 1/2 cup basil
  • 1 brown onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2teaspoons dried chilli flakes
  • 2 Italian tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shaved parmesan
  • 1 cup pitted Kalamata olives
  • 2tablespoons olive oil
  • 425grams tuna in oil, flaked
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

Method

Step 1 of 3

Cook linguine in a large saucepan of boiling salted water according to packet instructions or until al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup cooking liquid.

Meanwhile, heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add onion, garlic and chilli flakes and cook for 4-5 minutes or until softened. Stir in tomatoes, increase heat to high and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 5 minutes. Add tuna and olives. Cook for 2 minutes or until heated through.

Step 3 of 3

Divide pasta between plates. Spoon over puttanesca sauce. Top with basil and parmesan, and serve.
