- 3tablespoons water
- 4tablespoons honey
- 3tablespoons brown sugar
- 3tablespoons soy sauce
- 500grams scotch pork fillet steaks, patted dry
- 1 pinch salt (to taste)
- 1 pinch pepper (to taste)
- 5tablespoons butter
- 5 cloves garlic, peeled and finely minced
- 2tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
Description
The sweet and savoury flavours of soy, butter, honey and garlic work perfectly with tender pork.
Method
Step 1 of 3
In a small bowl, mix the water, honey, sugar and soy sauce. Set aside. Season the the pork steaks with salt and pepper.
Step 2 of 3
Heat a large non stick skillet over high heat, add 2 tablespoons of butter and cook pork for one minute each side. Lower to heat to medium and cook each side 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
Step 3 of 3
In the same skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter and tip in the garlic. Cook until fragrant. Add the pork and the sauce. Mix and bring to the boil for 1 minute until thick and sticky. Take off the heat. Finish with the 1 tablespoon of butter. Serve the steak with hot rice and top with sesame seeds.
