  • 1 ham bone with leftover meat attached, plus extra leftover ham
  • 4 carrots
  • 4 stalks celery
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 6-8 cup chicken stock
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 cup corn kernels
  • 1tablespoons garlic powder or minced garlic
  • 4packets chicken noodle soup
  • salt & pepper (to taste)

Description

Delicious alternative to pea and ham soup. My favourite post-Christmas recipe.
Instruction tip
You can substitute the celery, corn and carrot for a bag of Woolworths Australian carrots, peas and corn from the freezer section.

Method

Step 1 of 6

Dice carrots, celery, potatoes and onion. Add to the slow cooker pot.

Step 2 of 6

Add ham bone and leftover ham to the slow cooker.

Step 3 of 6

Add corn and kidney beans, drained.

Step 4 of 6

Add chicken stock and season with garlic powder, dry chicken noodle soup (no water added) and salt & pepper to taste.

Step 5 of 6

Cook in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours.
