  • 1 brown onion
  • 1 1/2 cup button mushrooms
  • 3tablespoons Chris’ traditional French onion dip
  • 1L extra virgin olive oil
  • 3-4 fresh thyme

Method

Step 1 of 5

Cook your pasta in heavily salted water as per packet instructions.

Step 2 of 5

While the pasta is cooking, fry your onions & mushrooms in olive oil until the onions are caramelised.

Step 3 of 5

Before you drain your pasta, remove half a cup of the cooking water and reserve.

Step 4 of 5

Drain the pasta and place back in the warm pot.

Step 5 of 5

Stir a quarter of the cooking water back through the pasta, along with the French Onion Dip. Add more water if needed – you’re looking for a creamy consistency.
