Want a tall, delicious burger for under $5 per serve? This one is loaded with bacon, Colby cheese, Australian beef and veggies for a flavour explosion.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Combine beef, egg and breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Shape mixture into 4 equal patties.
Step 2 of 4
Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan. Add patties, cook for 2 minutes each side or until browned. Transfer to oven, and bake for 10 minutes. Top with cheese, then bake for 2 minutes more or until cheese melts.
Step 3 of 4
Meanwhile, heat a small non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook bacon, in batches, for 2 minutes each side until browned.
Step 4 of 4
Top roll bases with half of the burger sauce, then rocket and tomato. Top with a piece of bacon, then a patty, then remaining bacon. Drizzle with remaining sauce. Thread gherkins onto bamboo skewers. Top burgers with roll tops and secure with gherkin toothpick to serve.
