Description

Simple to make and endlessly customisable. Add splashes of colour with your toppings to make visually impressive barks that make great gifts. Simply spread tempered chocolate out on a baking sheet and sprinkle it with whichever toppings you like.

Method

Step 1 of 3

Cover a baking tray with greaseproof paper and use a ladle to pour the tempered chocolate into the centre. Let the chocolate flow to its natural depth. Tap the tray firmly on the work surface to even out the depth of the chocolate and release any air bubbles.

Step 2 of 3

Sprinkle the pistachios, pecans, cranberries, and sea salt (or whichever toppings you prefer) onto the surface of the chocolate. Work quickly, adding all the toppings before the chocolate starts to set. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes until the chocolate is just set.

Step 3 of 3

Once the chocolate has set, remove it from the fridge and break it into large, irregular shards to serve. Bark can be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 3 months, depending on the shelf life of your chosen toppings.
