Description
With a creamy chicken filling infused with garlic and thyme, these comforting chicken pot pies with a star crust will impress the kids on chilly days.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Spray a large, deep frying pan with oil. Heat over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook for 5 minutes or until softened. Add garlic and thyme to pan. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute or until fragrant.
Step 2 of 3
Add chicken. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until meat is browned. Add flour and stir to coat. Gradually add milk, stirring to combine. Add vegetables and cheese. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes or until chicken is cooked and sauce has slightly thickened.
Step 3 of 3
Meanwhile, preheat grill on medium-high. Using a 5cm star cutter, cut 4 stars from each slice of bread. Spoon chicken mixture among 4 x 1 -cup capacity ramekins. Top each with 2 stars and spray with oil. Place ramekins on a large baking tray. Arrange remaining stars on tray beside ramekins. Spray with oil. Grill for 3 minutes or until stars are golden. Serve pies with remaining stars.
