- 5 Royal Gala apples, cored, sliced into thin wedges
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1tablespoons cornflour
- 1/2teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 6 traditional hot cross buns, split
- 125grams blueberries
- 125grams raspberries
- 500grams vanilla bean ice-cream
Description
Fill your home with the sweet aromas of cinnamon baked apples and hot cross buns. This is an easy recipe for a lovely dessert crumble with an Easter twist.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced.
Step 2 of 4
Place apple, sugar, cornflour, cinnamon and juice in a 20 x 25cm (4cm deep) baking dish, then toss to combine. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes or until apple is almost tender.
Step 3 of 4
Remove foil and arrange hot cross buns on top. Bake for a further 10 minutes or until apple is tender and hot cross buns are warm and toasted.
Step 4 of 4
Place hot cross bun bases in bowls. Spoon over apple mixture and berries, then top with hot cross bun tops. Serve with ice-cream.
